Yearly bloodwork is a valuable tool in keeping up with what is going on with your furry companions health overall. Not only can it be used when an issue occurrs but getting yearly bloodwork, usually a chem panel, cbc and maybe thyroid and diabetes, you will have a bench mark as what is normal and if there's any trends you will see before symtoms occurr.
As an option to save in expenses, most animal clinic and hospitals now offer inhouse testing which is usually cheaper than sending out.

The answer is…. VERY IMPORTANT. I know many people are hesitant to spend the money but it tells a veterinarian so much, especially since you pet companion speaks gruff, meow, tweet, hiss or maybe nothing at all. If you have a limited budget, bloodwork is one the of few options I highly recommend doing.
